Kindness

Kindness - is the act of doing something beneficial to another person (or people) with no expectations of any form of compensation in return for the kind act. When doing something out of kindness you are doing it to in fact be kind and make yourself feel good knowing you were nice to someone for no particular reason whatsoever.

Kindness is a what all people should have to be virtuous because being kind and selfless will be a reward in itself when helping others prosper in life. Without kindness, we would live in a world of envy and greed where everyone would do things only to benefit themselves. Kindness is the virtue that enables others to be considerate of other peoples wants and needs. Mastering kindness is a virtue to value since it means that you have accepted the fact that being kind is not being weak. Instead of weakness kindness is being strong enough to be the bigger person to help beyond yourself and your needs. Although virtues such as wisdom and piety are of high importance, kindness falls in this category because it in fact does keep a balance in the world.Doing kind acts as small as holding the door open for someone else goes along with the virtues others should follow. Being a kind person is also being a considerate person; someone who is thinking of others is someone with good morals.

All acts involving something beneficial to others are virtuous.
All selfless acts of kindness are acts involving something beneficial to others.
All selfless acts of kindness are virtuous

  1. Kindness is indeed a good virtuous aspect to have. Not only does kindness make the world an overall better place, it allows for people to appear like a more genuine and trusting person. Good post.

  2. I like the fact that you said "selfless acts of kindness" instead of just acts of kindness. I feel like a lot of people in todays world will be kind but will expect something in return. They'll hold the door open, but then complain to their friends that no one said "thank you." The reality of the matter is that if one was truly being kind, they wouldn't expect anything in return for what they do, no matter how large or small.

  3. 1) All acts involving something that will teach people how to be content with giving as opposed to receiving
    are virtuous.

  4. I agree when you say kindness is a reward because it is. Kindness keeps a balance in this world because without it there would only be rudeness and other bad qualities people do not intend to posses.

  5. i agree that kindness is a virtue. to highlight this fact more i would bring up flaws in people with out it. Say something along the lines of people without kindness don't have very many friends. Or people with out kindness don't get far in life because the push others away.
